慶祝2021 年中秋節 (Celebrating 2021 Mid-autumn festival)
Celebrating Mid-autumn festival
On September 21st, the Colchester Chinese Association celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival 2021 at the centre of the association. The traditional Mid-Autumn Festival is the day to tell the story of the moon and it is also the day when people are reunited. Although this year there was no gathering at the centre, with the red lanterns raising high, the atmosphere of happiness was still there.
Caring for the elderly and running Chinese school are the top priorities of the association to provide services to the Chinese community. In view of this, the association presents gifts to the seniors over 65 and teaching staff of CCA Chinese school, respectively. Thanks to the elderly for their hard work to the community and their efforts to support families. Special thanks also go to our teaching staff for their earnestly and tirelessly teaching and inspiration for the heritage of Chinese culture.
With the support of the following companies and individuals for their generous sponsorships and hard work, our celebration of the Mid-autumn Festival was a success.
50 boxes of premium mooncakes sponsored by海星海鮮公司
Hanging lanterns and wrapping gifts by volunteers
Members paying £5 for gifts to help raise funds for the association
Delicious brisket and roasted pork from John Chan, member of Executive Committee
Procurement from London by Patrick Cheung, member of Executive Committee Overall co-ordination of arrangements by John Cheng, member of Executive Committee
